Fresh Berries
Freshly picked wild berries that stand out with their gorgeous intense colors
are rich in vitamins and very healthy. They taste fruity – sweet and are especially delicious.
Real Forest Blueberry
The real blueberry (Vaccinium myrtillus) also blueberry or blackberry tastes not only discreetly sweet and really delicious, it is also full of valuable vitamins and is like the cranberry a true vitamin bomb and among the healthiest fruits. In Germany, the blueberry is therefore called “the blue gold of the forest”.
Origin
Wild forest blueberries like to grow on low shrubs in sparse coniferous forests. The original home of the forest blueberry berry is in Germany, Eastern Europe and the Baltic States.
Season
The true wild berryberry is available in the domestic market from late June to early August. As a compote or extra jam they are therefore available all year round.
Real Forest Cranberries
The cranberry (Vaccinium vitis-idaea) is rich in vitamin C and have a sour-sour taste. Cranberries are true vitamin bombs and are considered medicinal plants because of their bitter substances. When processed as compote or jam, the fruits are very popular. In Sweden, the berry is therefore also referred to as the country’s “red gold”.
Origin
Cranberries are quite resistant to cold and therefore thrive mainly on loamy soil, or moorland. We source our cranberries from the forests of the Scandinavian countries, as well as the northern regions of Europe.
Season
Fresh cranberries are collected from mid-July to September. As a delicious compote like homemade, they are in stock throughout the year.
